Cabin Fever.

I want to be in Pacific Valley. Another summer past without getting up there for more than a day. My mom, Colin, and I went for a creek (crick) walk.
I lost Colin's boats...whoops.

I looked for Colin's boats.

I found Colin's boats.

I played with Colin's boats.

i like being an aunt.

Dear Allie and Stefanie,

Thank you for faithfully reading my blog. You both are very very nice. Remember these days?

I am glad we're friends.

What I Know

is that i can't get enough of this song...I play it at least twice on my way to work and at least once on my way fro work.

check it out? http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=98986361

other things i can't get enough of:
sleep, black dresses, black tights, brown boots, striped shirts, burritos, whitehall lane sauvignon blanc, chips, salsa, talking with my mom, cappuccinos, winking at cute boys*, and documentaries on hulu. I LOVE DAYS OFF!

*I actually don't ever wink at cute boys but i always think about it. Plus, they would never see me wink, even if i did, because i am always always wearing my sunglasses. I wear them outside and i wear them inside. I wear them when it rains and i wear them when it shines. i am even wearing them right now.

can someone...

move here...NOW! I want a roommate, someone to come home to, make dinner with, go wine tasting with (locals taste free!), go to the city on days off, go to the lake on days off, go to the beach with, make music videos every night with. Please friends, I want a friend here or all of you would be even better.

Also, I was talking to some peeps from the NC and i told them i needed to take a trip to the south but i would want to bring a canoe because when i was in virgina i just wanted to canoe everywhere because of the endless number of wetlands i saw. they said, "have you heard of the intracoastal waterway (ICW)" and i said "no". Then they told me that there is a waterway that goes from norforlk, va to miami, fl. it is kinda far but then i thought maybe i could get a rowboat with a small motor. it would talk about three weeks....i think. i also want friends to come on this with me. I would also need help planning it too like mapping a route and finding campgrounds, etc.

so if you either want to live with me or boat the ICW (prolly next summer) then let me know.

SidewayZIL

I am living it. I have been gainfully employed for two, 2, II, days. I am pretty tired but I pour wine all day in Napa Valley and get to eat really great fresh California cuisine.

I don't really know how to do my job but i will learn. people are pretty funny and from all over the map and accents to prove it.

Wine Terms I learned today:
Vintage- What happened in the year the grape was growing. Example: 2006 was hit by frost in the early months and was followed by a high temperature summer. This naturally limited the crop yields yet made for big flavorful fruit.
Notes- talking flavor, essences that hit you, i believe.
Nose- how things smell. example: wow that has a big nose.
Charcuterie- pairs with wine. fun to say, fun to eat, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charcuterie

i also have come home with a bottle of wine every day i worked. they call it homework. perfecto mundo.

oh all this to say, come visit me NOW!

that is all i have for right/write now.

she'sthewayne

tomygarth.
what 3 posts in 24 hours? Don't get use to it.

The reason being, my friend stefanie just made some mvs of her own.

This first one she sounds exactly like alicia. pretty unreal. notice the fade out at the end.

This second one is silent because of copywrongs but it is okay cuz we all know the song so just hum along (interactive- sweeeeet).

wait...scratch that there is sound. and amazingly enough she sounds exactly like prince too. America, we got talent.

pretty good.

i am telling you if you make it i will post it.

my room smells like fresh laundered clothes and sheets. I am off to bed.

HOLY SMOKES!!!

So good news travels fast and look who quickly responded to my post (and reads my blog). I am so humbled right now. So humbled.

Also, things said on this blog may or may not be factual...but always:
satisfactual
artifactual
benefactual
manufactual

in need of a little tender loving care?

Soooo, as you may have noticed my blog was pimped. With the help of a few generous hands i am no longer embarrassed to cruise the world wide web with a generic blog.

These generous hands:

Yeah, I got to meet Xibit and all the boys at West Coast Customs and let me tell you what a bunch of jokesters. They tell me to tell you all,"hey". The best part of my blog being pimped are things you will never see. My new pimped blog also fixes me arnold palmers, sprays me with a mister (when needed), puts sunscreen on the hard to reach places, and plays fetch with my dog.

That aside, lets get to the brass tacks (with tact) of this whole thing. At the end of each post there are three boxes that you can check: funny, interesting, cool. They allow you to "react" to my posts. But really, encouraging reactions is far from my point of this post.... alright back to brass tacks... the real reason is because it made me think of three other adjectives that were put together and it also ended with cool. are you catching my drift? Yes, I am talking Crazy, Sexy, Cool. The girls that made one of my top flaves: TLC (not the television network but i guess that is a flave too). So then i thought, I should start doing covers of TLC (Tender Loving Covers) and it would consist of three girls: Funny, Interesting, Cool. I would obviously be Cool so I need two more: A. an Interesting and B. a Funny.

The search is on. Send me your addition (i mean audition but they will be an addition as well) tapes preferably you singing and dancing to a TLC song. Oh don't worry, I will be posting an example of what I want.

This could be really funnnnnnn.

Peace out,
COOL (like Chili) and Chilly (like cool).

da forf

of july went like this, cat

First, david, laura kate, and suzy met down town at the festival of the forth's festivities. Then david and i went to Sporty's, it was both our first time venturing in. We played buck hunter pro and didn't get any points the first three rounds because we were shooting at the female moose.

a nice painting was on the wall so david and i took our senior portraits with it in the background.

and made these videos on their back porch:

this is what we call artsy:

Then we proceeded down market street:

then we got jojos but david calls them mojos (wtf).

jojos:

mojos:

then we came home and the party followed us:
sparklers dance number one putting the funk in dysfunction.

dance two:

dance three:

david and laura kate did solo performances and I wish i wasn't such a back seat cinematographer but they were beautiful.

ummm then we went out front to light the real fire works:

Bottom Line: it was a gr8 nite, with gr8 people, gr8 weather, wished we got more jalapeno poppers though, and missed all our loved ones in seattle. next year.

everday i say...

"God Bless the Entire World, the Moon, the Sun, all the other planets and also Pluto and the milky way and all other galaxies" but since it is the fourth of july and all today i say, "God Bless America (specifically North America, specifically the United States)". Soooooo. I am excited to spend the fourth in a small town where most fireworks/arms are legal. I have been hearing picallo(sp?) petes and bottle rockets going off for the past three days so my thought process is that today shitsgonnagetcrazy.

I will be posting pictures (l8r) of the days events: david visiting, main street festival, fireworks show down by the river (the riviera de sacramento as i like to call it), sun bathing in the backyard and being as american as possible. So right now I am going down to Burger King and buying as many chicken fries as they will allow and then heading over to sav mor (save more) for Budweiser. So, friends, this bud is for you and america. God bless us (americans), everyone.

not elbow. not knee. not hip.

Hand gestures aren't enough these days, I need moves, the smooth kind (Darrin's Dance Grooves). After watching this I decided to choreograph my songs because it makes a person smile and nod their head. Get into it.

Off to dance, dance off?
The Two Right Footed Shliz

ps. in high school i tried to learn this dance...and i have been popping and locking ever since.

"and point on one". Also, I need to get one of those t-shirts.

somethings on my mind.

i used to listen to this song alot when i lived in portland. I just wanted to move to home to the country. I was longing for peace. It starts at the 4 minute and 15 second mark.

Now i live here:

and somethings are better but still there is something on my mind and i am trying to figure it out.

I talked to my friend andrea and she recommended me to read "letters from a young poet" by rilke. She quoted this, "so you must not be frightened if a sadness rises up before you larger than any you have ever seen; if a restiveness, like light and cloud-shadows, passes over your hands and over all you do. you must think that something is happening with you, that life has not forgotten you, that it holds you in its hand; it will not let you fall. "

I am going to the library tomorrow to pick it up after I wake up at 6 am to babysit for a dear friend.

i am slowly becoming a pessimist (as i crack a smile). HORRAYYYY!!!!

I watched breakfast at tiffany's today.
"I'm like cat here, a no-name slob. We belong to nobody, and nobody belongs to us. We don't even belong to each other".

then this came on my itunes shuffle.

oh dear. i am hoping for hope. I am also hopping for hope (turbo jam).

PACE, Shliz.

hangober hungoer hanghover hanghoover

I feel like shit...

I went to a wedding last night and I drank too much. I blacked out. I don't remember anything passed eating two slices of tri-tip. My mom came in to my room this morning and told me i was loud and said fuck alot, oh and was introducing myself to people as "ShLiz". hmmmmmm.

So right now, I am uploading some silly vids that my cousin and i made and listening to bonnie prince billy's chijimi ep. the sweet songs are helping me not think of what an ass i made of myself.

quien es tu padre? pt. 2 (dos)

So... I saw this:

oh before you watch it just know you will feel really weird watching it. YOU WILL FEEL SO WEIRD!well at least i did.

So...then my dad, and mom, and i made this:

Now, Go find yourself!

quien es tu padre?

hey.

so this is my thought process:

-God (check)
-Girlfriends (check)
-Family (pending)

Thursday, June 18, 2009

recent activities.

These days, I enjoy doing the following:
pulling my cats tails but not that hard.
teaching colin, my 4 yo nephew, new phrases like, "you're yanking my chain" or "i am just pulling your leg".
calling colin's art jar a fart jar. he gets mad when i do that. it's such a gas!
letting my cats sneak in the house and trying to find them, then pulling their tails but not their chains or their legs. cuz they don't wear chains, though they should, and pulling legs just seems too mean.
sitting outside and getting covered in bugs. they make me itch.
sitting outside and finding all the creatures my cat, barney, has killed.
body count to date:
4 gophers
2 field mice
1 dead lizard
1 live lizard with no tail (just found this morning under our hose hiding).
1 snake!that played dead. it was green. Barney was rolling on it and flipping it in the air. I was freaking out. Then my dad came home and i got barney and my dad threw the snake over our fence with a shovel.
the dead things get covered in bugs too. but i don't think they itch.
drinking coffee with my mom every morning. such sweet company.

speaking of chains. I was in the airport flying back from Washington DC to Seattle last year. I was in line to go through the metal detector. There were two guys in front of me. As we got closer to the metal detector everyone started taking off belts, shoes, rings, watches, etc. Well, these guys did just that but forgot to take off all their chains. I am not talking just dogs tags. I am talking like real bling. You know, diamond studded money signs/bull dog. I can't remember all the details but I do remember seeing alot alot of gold. Collectively, they had about 8-10 chains. The first of the two walked through and the metal detector went wild. Then they both realized that they had to take off all their chains. The best part of it was watching them carefully take each one off prior to the metal detector and then watch them carefully put each one back on after the metal detector. I think that keeping bling on through a metal detector prolly happens all the time cuz in the instructional videos on how to quickly get through the line says nothing about bling just shoes, computers, rings, watches, water bottles.

They were on my flight!

almost cut my hair.

No, No, No, not me, him.

I found this cover on youtube while looking up Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young vids. This popped up and I loled. N-Ewayz, he is sure letting his "freak flag fly" on top of his head and right behind his head, on the wall, all over the wall.

Here it is from Strat2Caster,

Along came a spider.

Today is laundry day. My room kinda smells and I have no clean clothes. But, this is what was in our laundry room. ACK! They are called jumping spiders. Not poisonous and don't make webs. They catch their prey by jumping on them. Soooooooooo, tomorrow will be laundry day.

You're my butterfly, sugar, baby. Part 2

Phillip, here, explains actually what the butterfly stroke is.

"But Phillip", you ask, "what do i do with my fucking arms"? Phillip says, "Hey, watch your language and watch my fucking youtube video".
here:

You're my butterfly, sugar, baby.

I love butterfly anything. I love butterfly hair clips, butterfly jokes (pass the butter, please. have you ever seen butter fly?), butterfly tattoos, butterfly houses at the zoo, but most of all, I love the butterfly stroke. What you don't know how to do the butterfly stroke?!!! Well, I actually do and, with some help, I can teach you free of charge.

First, here is Phillip on the dolphin kick:

Second, here is Phillip (again) on the butterfly stroke jargon. He uses key phrases that you must at least learn, even if you never learn the stroke, you can still use the words, even if you don't even swim, and people will think you are an expert at the butterfly stroke. here it is:

alright more to come later...enough for today, dry yourself off, and go watch some tv.
