recent activities.

These days, I enjoy doing the following:
pulling my cats tails but not that hard.
teaching colin, my 4 yo nephew, new phrases like, "you're yanking my chain" or "i am just pulling your leg".
calling colin's art jar a fart jar. he gets mad when i do that. it's such a gas!
letting my cats sneak in the house and trying to find them, then pulling their tails but not their chains or their legs. cuz they don't wear chains, though they should, and pulling legs just seems too mean.
sitting outside and getting covered in bugs. they make me itch.
sitting outside and finding all the creatures my cat, barney, has killed.
body count to date:
4 gophers
2 field mice
1 dead lizard
1 live lizard with no tail (just found this morning under our hose hiding).
1 snake!that played dead. it was green. Barney was rolling on it and flipping it in the air. I was freaking out. Then my dad came home and i got barney and my dad threw the snake over our fence with a shovel.
the dead things get covered in bugs too. but i don't think they itch.
drinking coffee with my mom every morning. such sweet company.

speaking of chains. I was in the airport flying back from Washington DC to Seattle last year. I was in line to go through the metal detector. There were two guys in front of me. As we got closer to the metal detector everyone started taking off belts, shoes, rings, watches, etc. Well, these guys did just that but forgot to take off all their chains. I am not talking just dogs tags. I am talking like real bling. You know, diamond studded money signs/bull dog. I can't remember all the details but I do remember seeing alot alot of gold. Collectively, they had about 8-10 chains. The first of the two walked through and the metal detector went wild. Then they both realized that they had to take off all their chains. The best part of it was watching them carefully take each one off prior to the metal detector and then watch them carefully put each one back on after the metal detector. I think that keeping bling on through a metal detector prolly happens all the time cuz in the instructional videos on how to quickly get through the line says nothing about bling just shoes, computers, rings, watches, water bottles.

They were on my flight!
